We celebrated Jason's 38th birthday on New Year's Eve and as usual, his birthday was overshadowed by the holiday. I keep promising to him that I'll make his 40th a truly memorable one-- promise.
We all enjoyed a homemade chocolate cake-- his only request for his big day. That night, we walked to our neighbor's house for a casual New Year's Eve party. The kids had a blast playing Just Dance 4 and they showed off some moves that even surprised me. Around 11pm I was called into work and was there until 5am. I rang in the New Year with a few co-workers and toasted with Diet Ginger Ale.
