Family

We celebrated an early Christmas this year because on Christmas Day we packed the car and headed to the airport for our cross country trip. We flew to San Jose, CA to visit Jason's family. The girls did awesome on both flights, Olivia never cried and Isabella never melted. A success. We've enjoyed time with family and I just love watching the girls bond with grandma and grandpa and their cousins. We took a trip to San Francisco to see the seal lions at Pier 39, but only a few were out. The clam chowder in the sourdough bread bowls made the trip worth it.

Yes..this is Jersey

I had no idea we'd get so much snow this weekend. Needless to say, we stayed indoors and admired the snowfall from inside. On Sunday we spent a good part of the day digging ourselves out from under the white stuff. Isabella was poorly prepared for the frigid weather and didn't have any waterproof gear or mittens. I was waiting until the after Christmas sales to stock up, but it hit early this year. She did have fun tromping though it and risking her life in our neighbor's sled. The snow is fun for a couple of days, I'm just glad it isn't like this all winter long.

Happiness

I love that Isabella recently at completely random moments just shouts out with enthusiasm, "I'm so happy!" "Mommy, I love you so much!" and then she puts her arms around my neck and my eyes well up with tears. The tearing up thing happens every time. I also love that she's sitting right next to me on the couch completely consumed by Barefoot Contessa.

The home stretch

I'm in the thick of finals and want nothing more than for these next 2 weeks to fly by so that I can finally remember what freedom feels like. Here are a couple cute pics of the girls as a diversion from studying.
