They're the Best!

I know that every mom thinks her kids are the greatest, but mine really are. (Ha!) Tonight as I was feeding Olivia before putting her down for the night Isabella was cuddled right next to me holding her baby doll and rocking her. She was doing everything to her baby doll that I was doing to Olivia, kissing her head, singing to her and patting her gently. Isabella was telling me to be quiet because her baby was sleeping. I just adore both of these girls and am so grateful each day they are in my life. I feel so privileged to be their mother and to teach them to become smart, confident, compassionate women someday. There is nothing better.

Asleep by 8

Getting the girls in bed by 8pm every night is our new goal. Isabella would stay up all night if we let her. She always wants to be where the action is and going be bed early has never been her forte. The other day she actually fell asleep on the couch at about 5:15 and I didn't have the heart to wake up her right away. I finally woke her up at 6:15 because I knew she just wouldn't go to sleep that night. She was so comfortable and was even sweaty under the blanket. Needless to say, she wasn't in bed by 8 that night, how about 10:30? Yeah, I've gotta work on this bedtime issue.

J

I usually feel more grateful for the J-man when he's out of town because it's then that I realize how much easier he makes my life. You know, like today when my car didn't start the first time, I was really wishing Jason was around, luckily the car obliged. I was also wishing Jason was present tonight while the girls and I waited for three hours in the cold for the H1N1 vaccine. Thank goodness they didn't run out of the vaccine, and the girls were actually great in the long line. Although, I couldn't have been happier J was around this past weekend when I spent early Sunday morning puking my guts out and suffering through the most excruciating migraine. Thanks J. You're awesome and we're already missing you.

Update

It's been way too long since I've posted about the latest in the girls' lives. They are doing great and beginning to play more and more with each other. I love hearing them giggle and laugh at each other, it's the greatest thing. One of the perks about Olivia not crawling yet is that she loves to sit on the kitchen island and get her fingers all over everything that I'm cooking for dinner. She was especially happy the night I made brownies.

An Idol

I went to Church today and was a guest conductor in a Spanish branch in Atlantic City, NJ. We are performing in a couple weeks and are trying to put together a small number. Guess who was in the choir ???. Yeah, pretty funny.
