Back to school? Really?

Yep, I think I'm officially crazy. It isn't enough that J is in school, I decided I had to go back too. I just couldn't resist the thought of us studying at the library together on a Friday night (oh wait....we have 2 kids, never mind) so I submitted my application and found out today that I've been accepted. Whoohoooo! Now, here's the real reason I'm going back to school...so that I have a good excuse to buy this, I can't wait.
Those are the roses J sent to the house the day I interviewed for the program. What a guy!

Someone call a plumber?

We've had a leak in our hallway shower for a couple of months that started as just a few drops and has progessed to a steady stream of water. Jason and a friend decided they would tackle the plumbing issue and worked until almost midnight last night nearly completing the job when of course at the end of the project, a pipe broke. Jason worked on it again today and thought the issue was fixed when all of a sudden as I was bathing Isabella in the kitchen sink (b/c the hallway bath is out of commission) water began pouring out of a recessed light in the kitchen.....not cool. Yeah, apparently there is still a problem with the plumbing and now a problem with the saturated sheetrock in the kitchen. Isabella was so amazed at the rainfall in the kitchen that she just kept pointing to the ceiling and saying "aqua." Looks like Jason got more than he bargained for b/c what was supposed to be a manageable plumbing job has now ballooned into something else. Hmmmm....maybe I can just talk him into a kitchen remodel while we're at it.

Manual mode

Just recently I've been experimenting with my camera and am trying to understand the art of taking photos in manual mode. Probably about 1 in every 10 shots actually looks decent, but the more I practice, the better I will get, at least I hope. My biggest challenge is getting a shot that isn't blurry without the use of a tripod. It's also hard getting a two year old to stand still, well, actually impossible. The two shots above were the best out of the ones I took tonight.

Look mom, no hands

Isabella loved the rides at the amusement park on the boardwalk in Ocean City. Riding with Aunt Yaya made the rides much more fun.

Family Visit

My cousin Steve and his sweet wife Gerianne made the trip to Jersey to visit us a week ago and we had such a great time. It was fun seeing them play with the girls and taking road trips into Pennsylvania and Jersey to see some of the sites.
We rented a minivan the first day and went to Longwood Gardens. This place was amazing and we only saw about 1/3 of it. I look forward to going back. Oh, and I also look forward to buying a minivan...they are awesome. (yeah, never thought i'd say that in my life)

Growth spurt?

Olivia has had an insatiable appetite these last couple of days. Tonight's dinner consisted of 10oz of baby food, a Yobaby yogurt and 1/2 a banana. I wish that I could use the growth spurt excuse when I pig out at dinner.

Just because

Just because I haven't posted pics of the girls in a while and because I love the dress that Olivia is wearing.

I love it when...

I'm scheduled to go to work and I get a phone call at 5am telling me that I don't need to come in until 11, so then I get my running shoes on and go on 6 mile run in 60 degree weather in the month of July. awesome.

The 4th of July

Taking in the firework show on the National Mall with family was a great way to celebrate the 4th. Isabella enjoyed the lights and Olivia almost slept through it all (almost).
