Day 1

Today was emotionally draining. I learned a lot about myself and the needs of my family. I will post more tomorrow. Goodnight.
Pic is of our vaca in Costa Rica when life was a lot simpler.

Anxiety

Alright...I'm usually really cool, calm and collected. Rarely do I get emotional. Tomorrow the girls go to their first day of daycare. I've completed all of the forms and looked over them to make sure everything is filled out correctly. I've packed both bags carefully with everything they will need and even included a short note for the teacher about their likes/dislikes, etc. Back the emotional part....I'm already teary-eyed about sending them to daycare. I don't know what my problem is. I wasn't this way when Isabella went to an in-home care scenario with a friend from church all of last year for 2-3 days/week.

I hope that things go well. I think I'll probably have the hardest time with it all. I know Isabella will walk in and just be so excited at the sight of all of the kids, toys and colorful pictures on the walls that she will just forget about me and make herself right at home. My Olivia will hopefully get the love and attention she deserves. I can only hope. Time will tell if this is the right decision. Fingers crossed.

I love the pout on this little face.

Orzo

I guess this is what happens when you have two kids under the age of 2 and no lock on the pantry door.

3 months

Olivia is now three months old and changing with each passing day. I know I keep saying that she is such a sweet baby....but she really is. She smiles all of the time and is a big talker, making cute baby sounds. She loves watching Isabella play and is into her new toy. She tries to grab it and bring it to her face. She loves being read to and is an intent observer where ever we go. She spent two hours at Gymboree Play and Learn today in the baby bjorn chasing after big sister and had a great time.

Aunt and Uncle

Our house feels a bit empty without Lytle and Darwin. They moved into their new apartment a few days ago and we can't be happier for them. We all had such a great time together and Isabella just couldn't get enough of them. She loved pounding on the door each morning until they opened it and would spend hours hanging out with them. (surprised they didn't leave sooner) I'm thrilled that they are only a couple of hours away and we can't wait to visit them.

Work

I just received my work schedule and will return to work in two weeks. I'm only going back part time which is two 12 hour days per week. The girls will go to a daycare that is blocks from Jason's job. Part of me is excited about returning to the insanity of my job and part of me is nervous and anxious about whether or not I'm doing the right thing. I think that most working moms feel torn between work and home and I'm no exception. The transition will be the most difficult, but once we fall into a routine, I'm sure it will be easier. Hopefully.

Party Planner

The last few days have been filled with party planning and party throwing. With the help of my sister, we pulled off a fun and successful Relief Society b-day party and a small get together at our home this weekend for a few friends. I must admit that I do love to entertain.

A happy baby

I don't know what I've done to deserve this...but Olivia is the happiest little baby. She is super smiley and only cries when she's hungry or tired. She's also a great sleeper and still sleeping about 7 hrs each night. Jason takes care of her from 5:30-7 am while I go workout each morning and I usually walk in the door to find little Olivia asleep in his arms with Jason usually catching a nap too.

Cute, cute, cute

I should be in bed, but instead, I'm looking through cute pics of Olivia and can't help but to post a few.

Mango Madness

While Jason and I went out to dinner tonight....Isabella was at home enjoying her own dinner.

Baby's First Book

If I had more time I would love to add this to my list of projects, great idea.

Spring

Springtime is so close I can almost smell it. Saturday was the first day in a very long time that the temperature was above 40 degrees. Saturday was in fact a beautiful day with the high almost reaching 70 degrees. We started the morning by going on an early family run and test drove BOB for the first time. I love him.
We spent some much needed outdoor time at the park and of course Isabella had a blast. She still loves the swings, but felt a little timid going down the long twisty slide. Olivia loved hanging out in the baby bjorn and slept for most of the time.
Lytle and I then took Olivia and spent about two hours shopping. My Olivia has good shopping stamina, at least for now.....just wait a year and that will disappear. The sales were good and I got a killer deal on this clutch in white.
Being outside in warmish weather is therapy for the soul. Can't wait until Spring.

Best in Show

Lytle and I went to the Philadelphia Flower Show this week. We were definitely a minority as most of the people had white/blue hair and were wearing broaches. The flower show was entertaining but definitely a cross between the movie Best In Show and the Rose Parade. Half of the show was a huge exhibit of various gardens while the other half consisted of vendors selling anything from beautiful orchids to garden gnomes made of clay. I bought a gorgeous white orchid that sits on the kitchen island that I love looking at. Having an orchid in the house is something I could definitely get used to.

I love it

Jason bought an iPod Shuffle for me for Valentine's day this year and I absolutely love it! It's so light that I don't even notice I'm wearing it when I'm working out. I've fallen in love with Apple products and am saving my pennies to buy this beauty this summer.

2 Months

Olivia's 2 month check up was today. The time is going by too quickly. Although, I know Isabella can't wait until little sister is old enough to play with her. She weighs 13lbs and is 24 inches long. My Olivia is consistently sleeping about 7 hrs a night and is still a happy baby. I'm a lucky mom.

Familia

I realize times are tough these days, but this is all I need to make me happy.
