In school, again??

Yes, it's true. I'm so absolutely crazy. I'm working full time and now in school full time, oh and a mom to my cutest Isabella in my spare time, oh, and I think I'm still married, but haven't seen my husband in a while. Wow...are my priorities in order or what? It's a long story, but I'm now in an online RN-BSN program which I will finish in August. I'm a person who lives without regret, but one regret I do have is that I got a bachelor's degree in Latin American studies and not in nursing. Instead, I finished my BA at UT while also in an associate's degree nursing program and now I'm returning to school to obtain my BSN. It will be a painful few months, but I'm managing. Oh, and did I mention that we bought a house and are moving in a few weeks? It always seems that big events in life happen at once. Thank goodness my sweet mom is here, helping us keep it all together because this would not be possible without her!
Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right thing by continuing to go to school and at what cost to my family is it worth it? I know a lot of moms struggle with this decision, career vs. family, and it isn't easy. Right now we're doing fine, but of course I'm already planning out my next career move, nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist, another big decision.

Six months later

Six months.....where did it go? It's amazing how much a baby changes in such a short time. Our Isabella is definitely full of personality and I'm convinced there is nothing better than hearing her giggle. So incredibly cute. She is also the center of attention and I know she wouldn't have it any other way. She loves to eat and play, although I'm not sure which one she likes more. She's also a very curious and observant little person, often noticing things that I overlook.
I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have her in my life and count my blessings everyday. She is absolutely the best!

The Birthday Boy!

Jason celebrated his birthday yesterday. Yes, he was born on December 31st and because of this, his birthday is often overlooked as people are out of town or busy celebrating the New Year. We decided this year for Jason would be different so we started the birthday festivities on the 30th.
My sister Lytle, the creative genius in the family was the mastermind behind an amazing Spanish Tapas feast that was incredibly delicious! She recreated the evening that she and Darwin shared at Amada the night before, sans Flamenco dancing.

On December 31st, Jason and I went to The Capital Grille for lunch because he was craving a filet mignon and then we all topped the night off with ice cream sundaes at The Pop Shop.

Christmas 2007

I know Christmas has come and gone, but I want to share a few pics from Christmas morning. This holiday season has flown by and it's hard to believe 2008 is here. Isabella was of course more interested in the wrapping paper than in the presents and as her mother, I'm actually very grateful for that.
