Not.....Divine Design

My favorite TV show is/was Divine Design with Candice Olson. Ever since moving into our new home (well, it's actually 50yrs old, but new to us) we decided to cancel cable and currently have no access to what most American's spend much of their leisure time doing....watching TV. (hope not having a TV isn't a deal breaker for anyone wanting to visit). Anyway, I optimistically thought that the current house renovation we're undergoing would work just like it does in a 30 min, artfully crafted episode of Divine Design. You know, someone would come in, plan a beautiful design and execute the plan (demolition and all) in just 30 minutes and all we had to do was to walk in at the end for the amazing reveal. Well, unfortunately nothing remotely close to that has happened. In fact, we're currently in the middle of the 6th week of a project/projects which were estimated to take approximately 10 days, all before we moved in, of course. The pics pretty much sum up what we're dealing with. O.K......not really, the plastic has since been taken down, but there is absolutely no way I'm going to post what our house actually looks like right now. Let me just put it this way, we're still hanging clothes to dry around the house, there is an air compressor in our living room, there are no doors on the bedrooms or bathrooms and I now feel like I have a new roommate....his name is Trace, a guy who never learned how to give an accurate estimate, you know...10 days really equals an eternity.....Where is Candice when you need her?

I can't wait to see the finished product!! And I've thought about cancelling TV, just not sure how the grownups would do around here (I always blame needing it on the kids *blush* )
