Her 8 Week Personality

Isabella is two months old today and already has developed quite a lovable personality....at least we think so. She is a very happy baby and it's obvious her favorite person in this house is her abuelita (grandmother in Spanish). She gives my mom the biggest smiles and I know they have very in depth conversations because Isabella just talks and talks when they're together. She is a very serious eater and let's you know when she needs more or when she's had enough. She already loves to read....no, really....every time I read a book to her I have her undivided attention and she just stares at the pages, soaking in every image, word and color. (I wonder when she'll figure out that I'm reading the same 5 books over and over) Oh, and true to form, she enjoys shopping. We took her to this great outdoor mall and she insisted on buying tons of summer clothes for next year, on sale of course!

True Happiness

Today I witnessed something I've never seen before......Jason experiencing pure bliss. You may think I'm referring to something Isabella did, you know like speak the words, "Daddy I love you" at 6 weeks of age......but no.....today is the day the iMac arrived at our doorstep. Seriously, I have never seen Jason smiling from ear to ear for such a long time....not at our wedding or even at the birth of Isabella. (maybe a slight exaggeration)
This computer has been in the making for at least 5 years and today it finally happened. A few quotes from Jason, while opening his new toy "Gosh, they package everything so nicely." "I don't know how to use a Mac, babe." "Wow, what do you think of all this?" The purchase of this computer was perfect, two things fell into place, the addition of Isabella and getting a small settlement from the car accident I was in last year. You see, we've made several trips to the Apple Store over the years and Jason would gleefully walk me through the countless cool capabilites of the iMac when compared to the PC. I must admit that I was impressed with the Mac but never saw a need for it, but now that we've started a family, it is a great computer for pictures, video, blogging, podcasts, etc.
So, let the fun begin. I'm glad Jason finally got something he's wanted for a very long time.

Our Isabella

Hard to believe that Isabella will be 6 weeks old this coming Monday, August 13th. She's growing so fast and now weighs over 11 lbs. She has brought so much happiness into our home and we are truly loving parenthood.

Aunt Lytle

I think Isabella is the luckiest girl ever and I'll tell you why.....she has the coolest aunt any girl could ask for. Lytle made a stop to spend some quality time with her new niece this past week and witnessed firsthand what it's like to live with a newborn. I don't think the cries of the newborn frightened her away for good, she left looking forward to her return. Also, Isabella was mesmerized by the new face in our home and couldn't get enough of Lytle's hair...I mean, who can blame her?
